| If I asked you, what is the value of something? For example, what is your car worth, or what is your computer worth?
The bottom line, the worth of something, is what someone is willing to pay for it. In the USA people are willing to pay about $2.00 for a loaf of bread. However, in Zimbabwe recently people were paying several thousand dollars for a loaf of bread.
What is a soul worth to you? What is a soul worth to Jesus??
I think if any of us spotted a $100.00 bill across the street in the gutter in a pile of garbage, we would quickly run across the street, get down on our knees, and dig through the garbage to get the money. As followers of Jesus, the question we have to ask ourselves is if we saw a street person in the same gutter in the same pile of garbage, would we be willing to still run across the same street and get down on our hands and knees, and help him out of the trash. In reality, myself included, we would get much more excited about the $100.00 than the man in the gutter.
However, WWJD.
Of course, our hero Jesus would always do the right thing and go after the street person. Jesus moved out of compassion as He walked on this earth. Because our Heavenly Father values every man, woman, and child on this earth, He gave the most valuable thing, His son.
When I preach, I always say that if you were the only person on this earth, the father would still have sent His son to pay the price for your sins. We have great value because the price that God was willing to pay for each one of us was priceless.
As we look to God to help us to be soul winners, we need to start by asking Him to give us His heart for the lost. Jesus came to this earth to seek and save the lost. When He ascended to Heaven, He passed the torch to us. Change our heart Lord that we may see what you see, and feel what you feel concerning the lost. By your grace let us go as far as a being is willing to lay down his life, so that others can come to know You.
