If I asked you, what is the value of something? For example, what is your car worth, or what is your computer worth?

The bottom line, the worth of something, is what someone is willing to pay for it. In the USA people are willing to pay about $2.00 for a loaf of bread. However, in Zimbabwe recently people were paying several thousand dollars for a loaf of bread.

What is a soul worth to you? What is a soul worth to Jesus??

I think if any of us spotted a $100.00 bill across the street in the gutter in a pile of garbage, we would quickly run across the street, get down on our knees, and dig through the garbage to get the money. As followers of Jesus, the question we have to ask ourselves is if we saw a street person in the same gutter in the same pile of garbage, would we be willing to still run across the same street and get down on our hands and knees, and help him out of the trash. In reality, myself included, we would get much more excited about the $100.00 than the man in the gutter.

However, WWJD.

Of course, our hero Jesus would always do the right thing and go after the street person. Jesus moved out of compassion as He walked on this earth. Because our Heavenly Father values every man, woman, and child on this earth, He gave the most valuable thing, His son.

When I preach, I always say that if you were the only person on this earth, the father would still have sent His son to pay the price for your sins. We have great value because the price that God was willing to pay for each one of us was priceless.

As we look to God to help us to be soul winners, we need to start by asking Him to give us His heart for the lost. Jesus came to this earth to seek and save the lost. When He ascended to Heaven, He passed the torch to us. Change our heart Lord that we may see what you see, and feel what you feel concerning the lost. By your grace let us go as far as a being is willing to lay down his life, so that others can come to know You.

One of my favorite true stories is about a man who had been living on the street for many years. A rich uncle in Chicago died, leaving him as the only heir to his estate. Unaware of his inheritance, the man, lived in poverty while millions of dollars were just waiting for him to claim. A local TV station got a hold of the information, and decided to make a feel good story out if it.

The mayor, of Chicago, accompanied by a unterage of reporters, and well wishers went down to the poorest part of the inner city. As they explained to the man his new position in the society, he did not believe it. In anger he commanded the crowd to leave, believing they were all there to steal his stuff. Not until they handed him a large check, did his unbelief change.

The church, even though legally are positioned to live in the presence and provision of God. We choose not to believe it, and we are willing to sit in our junk, believing this is the best it will get. The process of moving into fruit, more fruit, and much fruit, are lessons learned through revelation, faith and obedience.

One of the best examples in the bible is the story of David. Even though he was already anointed as king, it was a 13 year long process before he got to wear the crown. During these time watch and pray, stand your ground no matter, what is happening around you. And never, ever, quit!!!!

Read: Samuel: 1Sam 16- 2 Sam. 5

America has faced tough times before and pulled through. In the great depression in the 1930’s, there was an unemployment rate of 23%, a home foreclosure rate of 50%, and the stock market crashed all the way down to almost zero. Are we headed on a similar course, or something even worse?? This economic turn around not only effects America, but the world market, and each one of us at different levels.

Our perspective as Christians is not how can we save ourselves during these times, but how can we advance the Kingdom. Peoples’ false gods are failing and falling. What a great time

to share about the one true and living God. If times are heading to tougher days, how can we practically prepare, and be a church ready to give and receive?

1. Make Jesus Lord of your finances (Matt. 6:33)

2. Get out of debt. (the average American is in $7,000 credit card debt. Do not be a slave to your lender, but be the one who has plenty to give to the needy

3. Do not stop your tithe, but keep giving your tithe, and start giving an offering as well.

4. Help those who are hurting. (If you give a cup of water to the least of my brethren, you have given it unto me.)

4. Watch and pray. ( Ask the Lord for dreams and visions, and begin to see things that are coming. Listen to reliable prophets)

5. Pray for an increase in Faith. ( Faith pleases God).

One of my favorite kingdom finance stories in a time of crisis is the story of Joseph. Joseph received supernatural revelation, and walked it out in natural application. The dreamer Joseph, who was able to interpret the Pharaoh’s dream by the supernatural, was then put in charge of the whole kingdoms’ feeding program in the natural. He went from the prison to the penthouse. I believe for those who are in tune with what the spirit of God is doing in the times ahead will receive similar supernatural promotions. My best fatherly advice is if you’re in some financial trouble now, or just want to have a plan for the days ahead, sit and ask God for a plan and be faithful to be obedient, and little by little victory will come.

During times in the valley of life, God can usually get our attention. During these times usually the world, the church, and individuals begin to examine their lives. I know that right after 9/11 there was a 30% increase of church attendance, but only after a few weeks most churches returned to their former state. During our current crisis many are looking to the church for answers. However, a lot of the churches in the world today especially in Amercia and Europe, would be considered “LUKEWARM”. In the book of Revelation, Jonn delivers a message to the church in Ephesus that they are doing many good things, however, he sternly gives them a word to repent and return to their first love. Return to the things they did in the beginning.

About two years ago I received the same message from the Lord. During this season of my life, my schedule was packed out with good things.

I had an international ministry, thousands were coming to Christ, and I thought I was doing very well.

However, if I took time to slow down and listen to God, He seemed far away. The intimacy I experienced as a younger believer seemed a bit dim. Most of the time I was too busy to worry about it, or I explained it as spiritual warfare.

As I took some time off from ministry up at the YWAM base in Montana, I went out to the woods and had a wrestling match with God. Guess who won!!

I heard those words from the Holy Spirit that I thought I would never hear, ” You have left your first love”. So being a task operator, I cried out to God, “Lord I give you everything. I put it all on the altar.”

So after several minutes of listing all of my valuables, (family, ministry, hobbys), I verbally stuck them on the altar, and I heard these words “I only want you on the altar. The fire will only fall on what is on the altar.”

WOW, talk about a a smart bomb rebuke. I fell to my knees and repented to my self-controlled Christianity. As I began to walk out my revelation, He led me to a renewed freedom and intimacy with the Lord. One of the results of the shift in my thinking, and actions was an increase of love, power and favor. The Lord said to me, “Pray more and work less, and watch what I will do.” IT WORKS!!!

The church in these end times will either bend or break. Back to the church in Ephesus, the Lord says, “Repent or I will take away your lamp stand. The lamp stand represents the 7 spirits of God, and illumination of these spirits in our lives.

Our work for the Lord burns the oil, our time with the Lord fills our lamps……keep your fire burning. We need a church that will shine in these end times…

Every August during my college football days I would participate in an annual ritual called, “American Football 2 Days.” This much dreaded event consisted of two weeks of all out hell on earth, at least it seemed like it. We would rise at 5:00 A.M., and would go through an all out gladiator like battle in 100 degree heat called practice.

Every year we tried to prepare for the event as best we could, but it never seemed like we could prepare enough. Many of us thought we would die during the intense drills all day long. The purpose of these days were to prepare us for game day ahead. Over and over again we heard that games are not won on game day, but on the practice field.

I had one coach who would tell us that we would pass out before we would die. What great words of encouragement. During our two day practices we would deny ourselves the pleasures of the world to achieve a higher goal. Our goal was to be the best American football team in our conference.

In these last days I believe we are currently in, we need to prepare ourselves for the game ahead. It is two a day time. It is by choice that we place ourselves not in a routine of religion, but in a routine of righteousness. We do not come under a discipline without purpose, but we volunteer ourselves to deny the pleasures of the world so that when game day comes we are ready.

Here are some practical ways to get ready spiritually for what’s ahead.

1. Live a fasted lifestyle – Matt. 5

2. Ask the Lord to give you a desire to live a life set apart

3. Pray in the Spirit at least 30 minutes a day

4. Set yourself a regular daily schedule to pray, worship, and read the Word.

Scriptures to read:

1. Matt. 5, 1 Cor. 1-2, 1 Tim. 2:1-26
